About

David, founder of Techy Parent

Hi, I’m David — a West Michigan dad of six who loves tech and gaming.

Techy Parent is a free weekly newsletter that helps parents stay one step ahead of their kids’ tech, without living on Reddit or doomscrolling parenting forums.

Why I started it

My wife Katie and I have been married 16 years (she writes at nourishinglittlesouls.com). Between us and our six kids, our house runs on phones, games, social apps, and settings that never stay put. New apps and parental controls change constantly, and most parents don’t need another rabbit hole, just a short, calm briefing.

What you get each week

  • What’s worth knowing: the apps, games, and trends showing up on kids’ devices
  • What to ignore: the scary headlines that don’t actually matter
  • What to change: plain-English, step-by-step settings for iPhone, Android, consoles, and more

Plain English. Tested how-tos. Sources when we make a claim. No fear-mongering, no judgment.

Questions or ideas? I’d love to hear from you — get in touch.

Thanks for being here,
David
